Kids’ Camp Superintendent
Jeff was elected to the LRCA Board of Directors in 2011. He has served as Kids’ Camp Assistant Superintendent since 2009, when he introduced the KinderCamp to Lor-Ray. Jeff was appointed as the Superintendent for summer 2015. His duties include planning the summer theme, writing Bible studies, receiving camper applications, and serving as Camp’s contact for the State of Michigan DHS.
As a professional graphic designer and video producer, Jeff loves getting out in nature to escape the stresses of the digital world. He holds a Masters of Arts in Digital Storytelling from Ball State University and a Bachelors in Communication from Bethany Lutheran College.
Jeff is a Seminary student at Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary and will be receiving his vicar call in May. He has been a staff member at Camp Lor-Ray since 2005. It is partly due to Camp Lor-Ray that Jeff decided to seek the office of pastor. It is his goal to keep Camp’s focus on Christ’s cross and allow as many children as possible to know Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
Kids’ Camp Coordinator
David was elected to the LRCA Board of Directors in 2013 and now serves as the Camp Coordinator. He is responsible for hiring staff, organizing camper applications and other administrative duties.
He graduated from Michigan Lutheran High School in 2011 before moving on to Central Michigan University, from which he earned a journalism degree in 2015.
After spending 7th-9th grade as a camper, he has been a volunteer, junior counselor, senior counselor and activities director. Like other children, David was once resistant to leave his family for a week, but he became attached to Camp Lor-Ray following that first experience.
David’s mission is to ensure each week of Kids’ Camp operates smoothly for both staff and campers. He believes no Camp Lor-Ray night is complete without singing Abide With Me.

From clearing land to designing and building buildings, planning programs, leading Bible studies and worship services, cooking meals and even cleaning toilets, our volunteers’ efforts have allowed Camp Lor-Ray to assist ELS and WELS churches for five decades by providing a Christ-Centered recreation environment for youth and families. God-willing, it will be the efforts of the next generations of volunteers that will expand our efforts on His behalf.
